Dog Dish

Where Community and Canines Come First

When people walk through the doors of Dog Dish, theyโ€™re not just stepping into a pet supply store โ€” theyโ€™re entering a space built on relationships, trust, and a genuine love for animals. For owner Emily Bollinger, creating a place where both pets and their people feel welcomed has always been the goal.

โ€œThe human โ€” and often canine โ€” touch of a local business is priceless when it comes to serving our guests,โ€ Bollinger says. โ€œThe vast world of pet products is confusing and sometimes intimidating. People want a place they trust โ€” somewhere they can ask questions, get honest advice, and find a curated selection that actually works for their pets.โ€

That philosophy shapes everything inside Dog Dish, from the brands on the shelves to the way customers are greeted at the door. Instead of overwhelming shoppers with endless options, the store focuses on thoughtfully chosen products tested and trusted by the team โ€” including the shop dogs themselves.

Meet Dennis

Meet Dennis. Chief Greeter, Product Tester, and unofficial store mascot. Dennis takes his job seriously โ€” every customer gets a sniff of approval, and every product on our shelves has passed his personal quality check. Come in and say hi. He's expecting you.

One thing customers notice right away is that Dog Dish feels personal. Shop dogs roam the store, greeting visitors and quietly serving as ambassadors for the products on display.

โ€œDoes that big box store or website have a Dennis?โ€ Bollinger laughs. โ€œOur shop dogs are models, product testers, and living proof of what we carry in store.โ€

That playful authenticity is part of what keeps customers coming back. Whether someone is navigating a new puppy stage, managing dietary needs, or simply looking for a new toy, the team takes the time to listen and guide โ€” not just sell.

How It Started

At a time when online shopping dominates the pet industry, Dog Dish leans into what makes a local shop different. Instead of competing on endless inventory, Bollinger focuses on education and thoughtful curation.

"We want to remove the overwhelm," she says. "If something is on our shelves, it's because we believe in it. That helps customers feel confident in their choices โ€” and it builds trust."

This intentional approach has helped the business grow a loyal following, especially among pet owners who value expertise and personalized service over algorithms and guesswork. Customers often linger, chatting with staff, swapping pet stories, or simply enjoying the energy of a space designed for connection.

"Come in to ask questions, give a pup a pet or belly rub, and let us help you. We want people to feel like this is their neighborhood spot โ€” somewhere they're always welcome."โ€” Emily Bollinger, Owner

Dog Dish is where you go to find the perfect items for your canine companions. I found the collars I had been looking for after no such luck at a couple local box stores. The owners and staff are incredible human beings and the store is absolutely charming.

This pet store is awesome! Great stuff for dogs and cats. This is the BEST place to go for toys in Tulsa, and the collar options are great. Then there's some very nice custom order pet beds you can get too. The people behind the counter were also super friendly.
